Image courtesy CBS Films/Todd Slater Tom Waits gets his close-up in character as a bunny-loving nut job named Zachariah in this new poster for upcoming black comedy Seven Psychopaths. The blood-red movie poster, premiered exclusively by Wired, was created by Austin, Texas-based artist Todd Slater, who previously crafted graphics for rockers like the White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and The Killers. Waits, the distinctive musician who’s appeared in many memorable movies over the years, is part of a ridiculously offbeat Seven Psychopaths cast, which includes Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell and Aussie beauty Abbie Cornish. Set in Los Angeles, where a gang of would-be toughs get into hot water after kidnapping a tiny dog, Seven Psychopaths marks the first American setting for writer/director Martin McDonagh. The British helmer gave Farrell his best movie role in years when he cast the Irish actor in critically acclaimed 2008 thriller In Bruges. In addition to five other character posters unveiled Friday on various websites, a seventh slot has been reserved for the best piece of fan art uploaded to the Seven Psychopaths Facebook page.
